The source of this error is a missing Windows Registry entry that specifies the location of the MediSoft program files. Focus Reports uses this information to locate a file named lastcon.cfg. This file tells Focus Reports whether the MediSoft data tables should be opened in local (single-user, on the local computer) mode or remote (client/server, on the database server) mode.
To correct this error, you can manually place an entry in the Windows registry. Caution: Improper editing of the registry can cause permanent unrecoverable errors.
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/MediSoft/Patient Accounting, add a new string value. Click the Patient Accounting branch in the registry tree, right click in the right side of the Regedit window, select New > String Value. Enter "Program Path" and press Enter. Right click, select Modify, and enter "C:\Program Files\MediSoft" (or the actual location of the MediSoft program files) in the Value field.
