Error 7008
|
|
Report Explorer (Print Engine) opens properly, but trying to print or preview a report produces an error 7008.
The Focus Reports Print Engine needs to know the location of the MediSoft data files and whether the data tables are local (single-user, on the local computer) or remote (client/server, on the database server). To do this, Focus Reports reads a file in the MediSoft program folder (normally \Program Files\MediSoft\Bin) named lastcon.cfg. This file contains the text "Remote" or "Local" which is the result of the last time MediSoft connected to its data files. When MediSoft is installed it places an entry in the registry stating the program installation target. If this entry is missing, Focus Reports cannot find the lastcon.cfg file and will produce the 7008 error.
To correct this error, you can manually place an entry in the Windows registry. Caution: Improper editing of the registry can cause permanent unrecoverable errors.
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/MediSoft/Patient Accounting, add a new string value. Click the Patient Accounting branch in the registry tree, right click in the right side of the Regedit window, select New > String Value. Enter "Program Path" and press Enter. Right click, select Modify, and enter "C:\Program Files\MediSoft" in the Value field. RESTART THE COMPUTER for the change to take effect.
Note: This issue is corrected in Focus Reports version 1.2. Installing version 1.2 or above will correct this error.
