MediSoft must be launched and a practice opened before installation of Focus Reports. Launching MediSoft places an entry in the Windows registry that defines settings for the MediSoft menu. Focus Reports uses these settings to place the Focus Reports selection on the MediSoft menu.
This error can also occur of you are trying to install a version of Focus Reports that isn't as current as the version of MediSoft you're using. Make sure you are using the most current version of Focus Reports.
If the error still occurs, follow these steps:
- Confirm that you are logged into the computer as the user who will use Focus Reports and MediSoft
- Confirm that your user login has administrator privileges (domain administrator if applicable)
- Confirm that you have a current backup of your data
- Confirm that you have installation CDs for MediSoft and Focus Reports
- Edit the Windows registry and remove all registry entries related to MediSoft in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software section of the registry (Note: this will remove any menu or window customizations you have made in NDCMedisoft)
- Reinstall MediSoft
- Launch MediSoft and open a data set
- Close MediSoft
- Reinstall Focus Reports
