Reports designed with Focus Reports version 4 are compatible with all supported versions of MediSoft (7, 8, 9, 10 and 11) with no special changes required. These instructions are provided for use when testing or troubleshooting multiple versions of MediSoft data on the same computer. As a rule, only Focus Reports dealers will need to do this.

Assumptions

• You are using Focus Reports version 4 or above
• Different versions of MediSoft data can be found in different root data folders
• You are running Advantage Database Server version 7 or above

Installation

Install Focus Reports once for each version of MediSoft you're using. This is required because Focus Reports places its report database in the MediSoft root data folder.

1. Change the MediSoft root data folder by holding down the F7 key when opening MediSoft. Enter the root data path for the MediSoft data that goes with this version of MediSoft
2. Run the Focus Reports installation
3. Change root data folders and repeat until installed for each version of MediSoft

Changing Versions

When you want to change the version of MediSoft Focus Reports uses, follow these steps:

1. Launch the version of MediSoft you want to use while holding down the F7 key, then enter the root data path
2. Launch the MediSoft Interface Settings program (Start > All Programs > Focus Reports > MediSoft Interface Settings) and make the proper settings for the version of MediSoft you are changing to
